Fashion || The Blonds Fall 2011 Collection

Fashion || The Blondes Fall 2011 Collection

The Blonds presented a Thai-inspired runway festivity full of seed beads and fringe that
channel the fun-loving and 'Awe-Mazement' that one could experience on a Manish Arora runway.
The shimmering headdresses were fantastic and mimicked avant hairstyling;
one even took the form and shape of an afro.
The new fashion week hyperglam spectacle (by way of Heatherette).

Fashion || Jen Kao Fall 2011 Collection

Jen Kao's Fall 2011 Collection boasted with beautiful watercolor prints
and to add some extra edge to several looks,
Kao belted dresses and tanks with satin corsets detailed with fringe.
The silhouettes were reminiscent of McQueen,
with a colorful textile palette that could seemingly be painted by the hand of Matthew Williamson.

Fashion || Sessilee Lopez for Z Spoke Fall 2011

Sessilee Lopez looks divine in the Fall 2011 look book for Zac Posen's Fall 2011 Z Spoke Collection.
Love the ivory dress with pleated and tucked shoulders and elbow-length leather gloves.
Wool fabrication, a season favorite, brings a fabulous minimalistic parka
and always classic sleeveless shift dress with pleats along the waist.
Every piece in the Z Spoke Fall 2011 collection is undoubtedly consumer friendly.

Zac Posen's shares with Style.com "Last season was about launching it to the media,
this season, it's about direct to the consumer and retailer."

Fashion || "Ride On:" Betsey Johnson Spring 2011

Betsey Johnson wants you to "Ride On" --As suggested by the opening of her Spring 2011 Runway Collection.
It wasn't the fanciful Nautical or Race Car looks that were all the rage at INSPIRAT!ON.
Actually, we were more than thrilled with her finale!
LEDs, Luminescent Neon Party Dresses, & Betsey. xO
Believe it or not, the street IS our runway.

Fashion || Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Runway: 70s Glam

My Tweet said it all:
"@MarcJacobsInt is having a fabulous showing on their Spring 2011 Runway!!
70s glam has made an undeniable return. *Applause* #NYFW"

Just when we thought we couldn't adore Marc Jacobs more than we already do,
His signature collection was to-die-for. It's the Nineteen Seventies resuscitation that is much needed in a consumer world oversaturated with 80s-inspired duds.
With the decade also comes the attitude, our deepest desire for progress nouveau, activism, and eccentric tailoring.
I spy: Satin suits. Wide leg pants. Oversized glasses. Floppy hats. Jumpsuits & body suits. High waistline; Big hair; Obi belts; Oversized three-dimensional floral appliqués; Tent dresses with ruffles.
Ironically I'm wearing my biggest and baddest Afro to date.
Thank you to The Cut Blog for capturing THIS Moment: Marc Jacobs and Grace Coddington.

Fashion || Project Runway: Mondo Guerra Spring 2011 MBFW

Today is September 9, 2010 and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is well under way at Lincoln Center.
The Season 8 Project Runway darlings presented their Spring 2011 runway collections this morning and did not disappoint.
This season's talent undoubtedly was the best collective work I've seen since Siriano's appearance; ironically his show was also a part of today's schedule.
The work was thoughtful and the designers dared to utilize every extent of their resources in the
styling of their models and the execution of some of the most cohesive collections presented for some time for the Emmy nominated show.

Jessica Simpson will be the guest judge for the Season 8 Finale.

Our blog pick was the always seemingly sweet and humble Mondo Guerra (pictured);
but for-the-win, it very well could be the designer the contestants wanted you to hate, Michael Costello.

I Spy: Tribal print leggings; Sheer tribal prints as a blouse and tank; Giant gingham printed dresses; Asymmetrical Polka Dots; Color Blocking with knits; Fabulous feminine headpieces that made a creative alternative to bows.
