Fashion || Paris Fashion Week: Manish Arora Fall 2011

For his Fall 2011 Collection, Manish Arora made a noticeable transition from

looks mostly composed of intricate beadwork and slash-spread techniques to

one that adapts a Parisian attitude; characterized by more than bold eyes outlined in black

with strong red lips. Some of the key items included satin shirts with lantern sleeves,

shaved fur knee-length skirts, hair wrapped headpieces,

curling corsets and body armor (or 'breast plates'), large fur sleeves

combined with a mix of multiple kaleidoscope patterned prints.

Futuristic and structural silhouettes at the Armani Privé Spring 2011 Couture runway.

Thoroughly enjoyed the deep jewel tones, geometric lines,

and textural sheen of the looks including some of the hats designed by Philip Treacy.

Unidentified flying objects juxtaposed on the crowns of several models gave

several looks a modern edge and elegance.

Fashion || Classic Chevrolets Riding High With Fashion During PFW

Quite the unlikely show-stopper at the Chevrolet & Franck Sorbier Runway Event

held at the Museum of Carnival Arts during Paris Fashion Week.

We adore classic Chevrolets as they represent quality line production of automobiles,

once the heartbeat of American economics and a central bread winning industry for American families.

Their presence at this event presented was somewhat ironic int hat fashion (no pun intended)

As upper crest Haute Couture Winter 2010-2011 looks were featured alongside the vehicles,

with designs featured by "Frank Rowan, capped by Jean-Luc Minetti for Alexandre de Paris, masked by Lyne Desnoyers for Mac" according to the Gala.fr fashion week report.

Such an odd couple on the runway, but we undoubtedly loved this pairing.
